Working With Me

Five Steps to an Award Winning Voiceover

This five-step workflow guides most projects from start to finish — but if your project calls for something different, let's talk about how to make it work seamlessly.

  • Step 1: Get in touch!

Say hello at jay@jaymyersvoiceover.com or my Contact page.

Simply send along the script, tell me any helpful details of your project (eg. usage, term, budget, etc.), and let me know if you’d like a sample recording.

I’ll get back to you typically within 24-36 hours!

  • Step 2: Sample & Green Light

Once you’re happy and comfortable with the sample (if you requested one) and we’re on the same page with the expectations and terms for your project, I’ll record the audio for you in full.

  • Step 3: Production

I’ll record, edit, and master your audio!

For most projects, I can have market ready files sent to you within 24 hours of starting production, subject to availability.

  • Step 4: Review

Take a listen and let me know what you think. If we need any adjustments or revisions, just give me a shout!

Most reasonable revisions I’m happy to provide at no extra cost, and in the rare event an additional charge is required (i.e. major rewrites, significant rerecords, creative direction) I’ll let you know beforehand.

You can see my full revision policy below.

  • Step 5: Payment & Delivery

To finish things up, I’ll send you an invoice with a variety of payment options. Upon receipt of payment, the audio is released for use!

FAQS

  • Due to the individualized needs of every project (i.e. duration, licensing & usage, post-production, etc.), every project receives a bespoke estimate.

While my rates are all determined on a project by project basis and are subject to change, if you would like an immediate ballpark estimate, most agreements fall into the industry standards listed in this rate guide.

To receive a quote and a sample recording, contact me below!

*Disclaimer: all rates must be mutually approved by both talent and client in a written agreement. Any and all publicly available rates are presented for reference only, are subject to change, and are non-binding until an agreement is met by both parties.

  • This depends on the type and duration of the project as well as my current booking schedule, but often I aim to return audio within 24 hours of receiving your confirmation email and the final script.

  • Unless agreed upon in a signed agreement, I generally adhere to the following:

    Performance Mistakes/Talent Error:
Mispronunciations or missing words are fixed at no charge.

    Artistic Edits or Perfomance Adjustments:
For projects under 5 mins in duration, the first round of feedback on pacing or tone is included at no extra charge. For projects longer than 5 mins in duration, a sample will be provided (of a mutually agreed length) for feedback at no extra charge. Further revisions and adjustments may be subject to additional charges: $150/hr (1hr min), and/or a percentage of the original budget equivalent to the amount of material re-recorded (excluding remunerations for usage).

    Script Rewrites:
The first round of rewrites totaling less than 10% of the original script (provided the duration is reasonable) is included at no charge, however, edits of this nature will be subject to a $150/hr (1hr min) additional charge for each round afterward, or a percentage of the original budget relative to the percentage of the original script changed or extended (whichever amount is greater).

  • You bet! I’m available via SouceConnect, Zoom, Phone, and most major platforms so you can provide real-time feedback and direction if you wish. To schedule a session, just let me know in your inquiry that you’re interested and I can provide rates as well as coordinate a mutually convenient time.

  • Payment is expected within 30 days from the delivery of the final audio and invoice.

  • Great question! 1% for the Planet is an organization where businesses (like me, Patagonia, REI, among thousands of others) agree to donate at least 1% of their annual income towards vetted environmental organizations.

This all comes out of my end with no additional charge to my clients, but those who work with me can take pride in knowing that a portion is going to the planet.
