“Jay doesn’t just read my books—he breathes life into them, transforming the words on the page into the vivid, living world that existed in my imagination...I couldn’t ask for a better narrator to bring my work to life.”
How it works:
While every book and collaboration are unique, and treated as such, but if you’re curious how a typical production workflow progresses the following steps are fairly standard for independently produced books.
If you’re a publisher or producer and would like to discuss a collaboration, please contact my representation here.
Step 1: Inquiry
Contact me with details about you and your book, a couple of sample pages for me return a sample for you, and any questions on your mind that aren’t answered here.
Step 2: Sample
To ensure we’re a good fit, within a day or so I’ll return a 3-5 minute audio sample for your review. Feel free to ask for adjustments if you’d like!
Step 3: Green Light
Once you’re satisfied, I’ll request the full manuscript for preparation, and send an agreement for you to review and sign. This is a standard agreement simply to offer mutual protections for your investment and our collaboration.
Step 4: Prep
I’ll read the full book, and come to you with any questions or clarifications. For example, character voices, word pronunciations, general tone preferences, etc. If you have any of these in mind to start, feel free to provide them!
Step 5: 15-Minute Sample
You’ll receive a 15-minute sample of either the first pages of the book, or of selections/passages that you’d like to vet before the full recording process begins.
Due to the way audiobook production works, this is the last opportunity to request major adjustments without significant rerecording and additional fees.
Step 6: Production
The book is recorded in full and sent immediately into post production and quality assurance.
Step 7: Final Review
You’ll receive a link to review the full audiobook!
In the event you’d like to request changes or revisions, whether due to an error or an artistic request, you’re welcome to provide a full list after your listen through.
Step 8: Payment & Delivery
Once the final runtime is determined, you’ll receive an invoice and any number of payment options. Typically direct or ACH transfers are preferable due to high transaction fees elsewhere.
Upon receipt of payment, all audio will be released to you for publication!

FAQ
What accents do you perform?
I am proficient in many and am trained in acquiring new accents. Below are some accents I comfortably perform out of pocket:
Most regional American and British accents (please inquire for specific regions). Irish, Australian, European General, Eastern European, French, German, and South African.
Is there material you don’t perform?
I will consider any project regardless of its content. However, I ask to review potentially sensitive or challenging material before undertaking any project and make this determination on a case-by-case basis.
How long will it take to complete my book?
Of course this depends on the length of the book, but often anywhere from 2-4 weeks from the start of production. My recording calendar tends to book out one to two months in advance, though accommodations can occasionally be made for tighter production/release timelines.
Can you edit, master, and provide QA?
Yes! I am comfortable and familiar with all stages of the audiobook production pipeline and am happy to help in whatever way is needed. I can provide rates for all scales of production.
What genres do you specialize in?
I like to tell good stories, regardless of genre. The joy of narrating is listening to any given author’s voice, the way they’ve chosen to tell their story, and then embodying that vision to the best of my ability.
With that said, my narration style and training are particularly well suited to strong points of view, large casts of characters, and texts that benefit from an added emotional depth and connection for the listener.
What are your rates?
My rates vary depending on the book, the project’s union status, and the publishers I work with, but if you would like a rough estimate immediately the below calculator will help.
